Progress in the synthesis and application of arsenene and phosphorene
1 : University of Chemistry and Technology Prague
This presentation will cover recent progress in the synthesis and energy application of two monoelemental 2D materials of the pnictogen group of elements, namely phosphorene and arsenene. While gray arsenic is the most common form, the synthesis of black arsenic, a metastable form, will be discussed. The examined procedures for 2D arsenene and phosphorene are based on mechanical and electrochemical exfoliation of their bulk forms. The doping and functionalization of these materials in addition to applications in the field of catalysis, energy storage, electronics, and gas sensing will be reviewed.
