Organic Nano-Tattoos on Surface Designed by AFM Catalysis

The design of new objects with defined properties is an important field of innovation. Nano-functionalization of surfaces remains one of the best ways to reach this kind of materials and the so-called "bottom-up" way will certainly be the standard of tomorrow in the fields of nano-electronics, sensors, but also energy to increase the existing possibilities.
In this context, we imagined that organic synthesis and homogeneous catalysis combined with near-field microscopy could be a tool of choice to selectively create and spatially control "organic" nano-objects on surfaces.
